I have to say that ever sense my grand father passed on i have had a void in my life until about a year ago. My girlfriend has been very active with horses and growing up on my gradpa's ranch i have to say it was nice to get back on the horse and rope my first calf since his passing. I still had this giant void in my heart and one day after a peice of artwork was done on my arm i realized what it was, i had to start shoein horses. Not just start shoing but really becoming a farrier and trusted member of the horse community like my grandfather was for more than 70 years in california. Ever since the day i picked up my raspp nippers and knives and made that first hoof look professionally done i knew that i found my calling and the thing that will fill my void . Thanks to my gradfather. my girlfriend, and my tattoo (ironically) i have found my calling in life.

Sorry to hear about your
La_cowgirl21 — Mon, 2010-02-08 11:22Sorry to hear about your grandfather. I know from experience that it never gets easy. You always miss them but you do get to a point where you can think back to all your good memories of them. May 14th will be two years that my grandparents were lost and I can honestly say that for me the only thing that filled that void was God. Hope you do great as a farrier.
