Lesson learned....
La_cowgirl21 — Fri, 2010-02-26 00:54
Well I learned a lesson today. Got up, went to the school board office to fill out a new tax form, went to the bank to deposit a check...seemed to be a fairly normal day so far. Well obviously i forgot one thing before leaving the school board office. Left there thinking that I had plenty of gas in my truck to get me to all of my errands. My gas gauge is currently messed up so I cant tell how much I have in there except when i fill it up. So needless to say I managed to run out of gas on my way from town to head to work. This was about 2:50p.m. (central time). I noticed that my truck had died while i was next to a barricade that has been up for construction...All i could think was please LORD please let me coast past these things so I can pull over because of all the work traffic behind me! I somehow managed to get pulled over. Now the task at hand was to find someone to come to my rescue. Dad and my brothers were at work, cant rely on the sisters-in-law to answer the phone so i couldn't call them. First tried my cousin who cuts hair in a hair salon. She of course had an appt soon with a client. Finally got a hold of someone from church who is a family friend and who is also like a second dad to me. He agreed to come help me but said it would be atleast 40 minutes. And beggars cant be choosers right? So I waited. He finally got to where I was stranded, put what gas was left in his tank after it had spilled in the back of his truck, and tried to crank the truck. Well new problem obviously. Wouldnt even turn over. Apparently while I had my emergency flashers on it drained my battery. So I then had to have my truck jumped off so that I could attempt to get to a gas station and try to make it to work. Managed to get to work 2 hrs after I was supposed to be there. Good thing my cousin is my boss! lol. Guess you learn something new every day! I'll make sure now to check to see if I have gas or not, not just assume!

Yeah I have to admit it is
La_cowgirl21 — Fri, 2010-02-26 09:57Yeah I have to admit it is funny. Wasn't at the time that it happened (kinda scary then) but now I can see the humor in what happened.

What a day!
Cowgirl at heart — Fri, 2010-02-26 19:18Do you ever sit back and wonder if God is testing you? Just to see how you manage the little or big things in life. I felt bad for you, what a day! I am glad that everything turned out o.k., and especially that your boss is related.
All the time! lol
