Western Writers of America members choose the all-time best Western songs.

The Western Writers of America surveyed its members for the top 100 Western Songs of all time. The list was presented at the WWA’s Annual Convention Knoxville, Tennessee. This list is an interesting mixture of old, traditional songs, songs from the movies and songs which many might label "country." What do you think?

Great List

There's a lot of really good songs on that list and I agree with the commenter who said somebody should put all those on a CD. I have to vote for George Strait, Amarillo By Morning, but really, there's a whole lot of good ones there. Brings back nice memories.

Great list but Masters Call dead last just my $.02 but I think it should be in the top 5. Great list and even better magazine.

This is a heck of a list!

This is a heck of a list! Love a good many of the songs on there. It's easy to see why some are there, like Ghost Riders in the Sky or Desperado.

While deciding "best" is

While deciding "best" is subjective, that's a pretty good list. I would probably have had them in a bit different ratings, but a good list just the same.

Top 100 Songs

Wow! What a list. Going over the list brought back many memories, especially the original of High Noon by Tex Ritter. Great job by whoever compiled the list.
