Square toe or Round toe Boots?
Square toe or Round toe Boots?
I prefer Square- better fit and feel for me.
They are both comfortable, but the square ones are ugly, yet cavalry boots in the nineteenth century had square toes and were first among boots for riders. In my view, pointed are purtiest, rounded all right, and squared be damned---and I have all three types. I just got back from Road To The Horse in Murfreesboro (which will be in Lexington next year) and noticed that plenty of other horsemen also wore all three types.
i own the classic medium round toe a design we got from mexican vaqueros thats the original.
i have both civil war boots, and pionties, Cricket killers} for when theey are in the corners. Can`t get them with square toes. But as long as there arn`t any holes in the bottom doesn`t mattter much too me

Round toe without a doubt. That square toe look is the pussification of the 'new cowboy'. I'd be willing to bet most who like the square toe have never been on the back of a horse except the electric ones outside of Walmart.

I prefer a round toe i'am comfortable in them and i don't really like the way they look and feel . and of coarse they need to be ariats .
Tony Lama. Course, that ages me a bit.
I really like wearing both square and pointed toe cowboy boots. I haven't found a reason so far to choose one over the other.
When I can afford to have them made, I usually opt for a toe style called a 'french toe'. A 1" french toe is kinda the best of both round and square. It offers the comfort of a round toe and the classic cowboy look of a square toe.

I have chip toe and round. Some chip toe's I've found less comfortable but I like to ride in them. Just depends on the look I'm going for too.
Howdy!
Galatians 2:20
20 I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live ; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me
Round toe for me. I found the square did not feel right. All about preference but I tossed square toe and will never buy another pair.

I prefer the round toe boots, because it fits your feet well. I have a pair of square toe boots, it makes me trip over on wood or rocks. I won't wear them working on the ranch or putting up the fence. And they make your feet look long, I don't know if I should have ordered one size small or should have not bought them at all. Don't care for them (square toe boots).
I go for comfort and like my "sorta" round toed boot. I tried a square toe but my feet slide around too much. I'm not real sure footed to begin with so this could be somewhat of a problem. :)
Those pointy toed boots are just way too uncomfortable. I don't feel a need to have my toes bound. :)
HHHMMMM, interesting questions. I am not sure. That's a good question.
Square toe!
I was gonna get the Ariat Roughstock but now, the made in chine thing kinda ruined the whole thing!
My fatbabies have lasted for years and I love them, but the next pair of boots are going to be the square toe boots by Ariat.
I prefer round or a little bit of a point. They look better and more traditional. It all depends on the shape of your foot though.
The cowboys in the Old West all had very round toes on their boots. The pointed boots didn't come around until sometime in the20th century. Round-toed boots are correct if that's what you prefer. I guess the pointed toe on the modern boots would make it easier to get your foot in the stirrup, but if you like round toes, how do you kill the cockroaches in the corners of your kitchen floor?
While I do like the look of square to boots, I don't own any.
All my boots are a little more pointy, but not"knife edge" pointy.
Recently I bought a pair of Ariats that have a "roper" heel (I know, I know) and a crepe sole if you guys are gonna be at the fairgrounds for the day, or doin a lot of walking you should consider these boots.
..'Course the girls have known this for YEARS. And they've been wearing fat babies ever since
..Whaddya mean my wife knows better than me?..

I have both square and pointed boots, I like them both. I guess it depends on the look I am going for.

I personally LOVE either cos I have wider feet than most and both give my toes enough room to wiggle. Style wise? I'd have to say Square Toe cos they're different. Everybody where I live (besides my older brother and my cousin) wear either pointed toe or round toe. My opinion of style isn't to be like everyone else it's the EXACT OPPOSITE. It's to be DIFFERENT. Currently I'm wearing round toe Justin's (I ain't looking to stylish right now but, I don't care) and they're great for just about anything. To me the toe ain't what sells the boot, it's the heel. If you get a walking heel for riding then you're screwed and if you get a riding heel for walking you're screwed.
