How many of you have watched an Extreme Mustang Makeover event, where trainers (both pros and amateurs) have only a few months to gentle and train an untouched mustang, and thought, “Hmmm, I wonder if I can do that?” I know I have. There’s definitely an allure to the challenge of taming and connecting with a quintessential icon of the American West. And many of the Mustang Makeover competitors make the task look like a piece of cake, as they easily maneuver their horse through crazy obstacles, complicated reining patterns, and bridleless routines. In this two-hour DVD, we follow “Extreme Wylene” Wilson (of Wild Horse Wild Ride fame) and her journey with Trooper, a mustang from Nevada, as she spends 120 days preparing for competition. World champion reining trainer Al Dunning joins her and together they demonstrate the hard work, skill, and determination that it takes to take a mustang from wild to winner.
